VISTAS AND SIGHTINGS
A friend suggested that I post some of the photos I have taken while living here so that one can get a better idea of the beauty of this area. As I am from the Bay Area originally I did not grow up in big sky country. As a result there are a lot of sky photos. A great many of these photos I took walking my dog around town daily. The photo in the header is a field of Rapeseed in bloom...Canola!! So here goes....
Around the corner and down a few blocks from home.
About the same location a few steps further on another day.
A quarter mile out of town at Phys Point Road. Mill Creek.
One of the things that has boggled my mind here has been the light, especially in the Fall and Spring. The sun gets lower, closer to the horizon and because of the big open spaces the effect of the horizontal light is staggering.
Two blocks from home near the Ascension Center.
Across the valley up in the hills, Morgan Lake.
Morgan Lake. I have seen Bald Eagles Fishing here.
Unity Lake area.
Mt. Emily, across the valley.
Mt. Harris taken from my walk in Cove.
A Winter day driving across the valley.
It was hailing in Cove and no where else.
Same hail storm.
About a half mile out of town on Phys Road.
Antelopes!! A terrible photo as they were a ways away and back lit. Out in the valley.
High Valley Road, a dirt road about a quarter mile from home.
The great thing about life in the dryness of high desert is the old buildings.
Driving home on Good Friday, Mt. Fanny. The weather did everything that day.
Driving across the Valley on Good Friday.
The Elkhorns outside of nearby Baker City.
Same day, same Elkhorns.
Seeing rain from Phys Rd.
I think this is the road from Union to Cove.
Mt. Fanny from the Ascension lawn.
Phys Point from Phys Rd.
Time to high tail it back home. A storm's a comin'!
Driving home from Union.
Mt Harris on one of my walks.
Catherine Creek.
One of many sunsets on one of many walks down Church Rd. in Cove.
